In early January I felt something pop in my left ring finger, whilst crimping. Fearing a pulley injury I booked a session with Jayden. He confirmed that I and either mostly or completely ruptured my A2 pulley in that finger. After a few years of little climbing I had started to climb more regularly again, and I was starting to get stronger. So I was gutted about injuring myself. However, from the first session, Jayden gave me a much more positive view of recovery. His method of diagnosis, and then tracking recovery and tailoring rehab has been really thorough and confidence inspiring. And he's also given me other methods to train (something I've never done to improve climbing due to lack of knowledge) to reduce strain on fingers but also to improve my overall strength. After every session he sends a detailed overview of training and rehab plans, covered in the session which is really useful to refer back to. I am now more motivated to climb and get stronger than I was prior to the injury. I would highly recommend Jayden and The Sheffield Climbing Clinic for physio treatment.
I was really impressed with the physiotherapy services at the Sheffield Climbing Clinic. After 2 years of struggling with a chronic injury and seeing multiple other health professionals the Climbing Clinic were finally able to help. Jayden brought another perspective that hadn't been previously considered and took the time to educate as well as treat me. The sport specific orientation meant that I felt he really understood my needs, providing a much more tailored rehab programme than I had specifically received. After the initial consultation, I was able to transition to online appointments which was incredibly helpful whilst living abroad. I would highly recommend this friendly and knowledgeable service.
I've been to the climbing clinic three times now for a variety of niggles and Jayden has always been great: methodical and very assured. It really makes a difference to be treated by a specialist who knows what your priorities are going to be.
Many thanks to James for guiding me through my shoulder pain/TFCC injury/tennis elbow rehab! A few months after my initial consultation and I'm back climbing at my pre-injury level. I wasn't sure at first how well remote sessions would work, but James has a wealth of knowledge and experience dealing with complex multi-faceted problems. His advices were invaluable ticking off the problems one by one and he quickly put me on an loading plan which eventually broke through all problems. Highly recommended!
I've been seeing Jayden online for a finger injury, and I can't recommend him highly enough. I live in a remote area, so finding this level of specialist expertise locally would have been nearly impossible - being able to do sessions with him over Zoom has been a game changer. I felt completely supported throughout, and the follow-up emails after each session were really helpful - everything I needed to know was clearly laid out, so I wasn't left trying to remember the details. I've learned a lot through the process and felt in excellent hands from start to finish. I highly recommend.
I went to see Jayden at the start of the year with an ongoing shoulder issue caused by a work accident a few years ago. I had managed to get back to climbing fairly quickly after the accident but it hadn't been right at all. I had been to a few different physios in the last few years about it but non had managed to make a big difference. What Jayden has helped me achieve in 3 months has been incredible. I never expected to be able to feel pain free climbing in such a short time and we have now moved to a point where I feel even stronger than before my accident. I cannot recommend Jayden enough, everything is explained really well and progress and aims clearly set.
Really great experience! I had1 in person meeting and 3 web meetings with Jayden the physio to help with the diagnosis and rehab of my left hand lumbrical tear + forearm flexor slip strain. The meetings were around every 4 weeks and Jayden was very helpful in giving me rehab exercises to do and having these progress check-ins to ensure that the condition of my left arm was improving. He explained everything very well and was super helpful. I would highly recommend even if you cant go in for an in person appointment as the zoom meetings were excellent.
In weeks Jayden fixed a long-term knee climbing injury I had been struggling with. I had online consultations. Highly recommended.
Jayden helped me get back to climbing and doing what I love pain free. Great professional and friendly service!
I booked a consultation with Jayden in October 2025 travelling from Liverpool to Sheffield after suffering 2 years with an a2 pulley injury in my right middle finger. This was very confusing for me considering im a boxer and have never climbed in my life. Jayden instantly spotted what was wrong with my hand and figured out what had been going wrong which is something nobody was able to do in 2 years. Jayden also had the expertise to be able to apply the fact I was a boxer and not a climber into the way he looked at the injury. He explained it to me very clearly and give me an 8-12 week plan on strengthening my hand and fixing my injury. We had check ups every 4 weeks and after 12 weeks my hand was completely injury free with Jayden monitoring my improvements and setting me goals and targets to hit. Amazing experience, highly recommended, thank you Jayden!
I had torn both of my hamstrings and had trouble climbing. Jayden has provided me with expert help, told me why it happened and how I should treat it. Gave me rehab exercises and advised me that I can email him when needed in order to get back to strenght soon as possible. It took only 2 months to get back to it. I cannot recommend this enough. Jayden thank you so much for all your help and I can climb again as I did before the injury.
I went to Jayden with golfers elbow. His familiarity with climbing, its demands and my motivations gave me confidence to trust his assessment and rehab program. I went from struggling to climb at all to coming back stronger than before the injury. Resulting in me sending a long standing project. Highly recommended.
I went to Jayden for a collection of left arm injuries from climbing and he was able to identify the problems and provide a clear plan forward to address them. Would recommend for anything climbing related
Building easy to find, parking on site, great staff, very friendly. Ive come here twice with injuries Both times i was checked out and given a physio plan to work on. Both times i've ended up stronger than before the injury. Many thanks.
Jayden was extremely helpful with a stubborn finger injury. I was worried I would have to take the entire season off... and ended up climbing a new boulder grade just 2 months after speaking with him! Would highly recommend the video consultation for those not local to the UK.
I've seen Jayden for a couple of different climbing injuries now using the online service, and his advice has resolved my injuries. You get a detailed plan by email which makes the advice easy to follow, and you don't need to panic that you'll forget stuff after the session! I also highly recommend the follow up appointments as these gave me updated exercises to help me progress the injuries back up to my baseline. The price is very competitive compared to other physios. All in all, a great service and I already recommend them to other people.
I’ve had a great experience at Sheffield Climbing Clinic! I’m a climber, and I’ve been struggling with chronic mystery shoulder pain for the past 2 years, so I scheduled an online consultation with Jayden. He is super nice and knowledgeable. He asks a lot of questions and explains things in detail and in a way that’s easy to understand. He also has dovetailed my shoulder rehab into a general strength and conditioning plan which is awesome. He even gave me a leg workout! Following Jayden‘s rehab plan has made a huge difference, and I have way less pain (and more strength) in my shoulder after only a month of rehab than I’ve had in the past 2 years. Most importantly, after such a long time of just „dealing“ with the injury I now feel like Ill be able to manage it completely and come back stronger. The online consultations are very easy to book and affordable. IMO if you are a climber this is a WAY better option than going to see a non-climbing doctor or PT (even in person) who has no idea about climbing injuries and gives you some BS unnecessary and expensive MRI‘s /screenings / referral to specialists who tell you to stop climbing and give you therabands/putty or cortisone injections. I’ve had lots of injuries from climbing and went to the „regular“ doctor — been there done that and honestly never again. Even though Sheffield Climbing Clinic does remote treatment, I have that sense that the PTs there have so much experience treating climbing injuries that they can diagnose and treat effectively even through Zoom. I will definitely be returning to Sheffield Climbing Clinic if I ever (inevitably) get injured again!
Jayden did a great job of diagnosing my ruptured pulley, providing me with rehab that I could fit in my day-to-day life, and giving me clear goals to work towards with my recovery. Would 💯 recommend him for any climbing injuries!
Jayden provided top class support for my shoulder injury. He really took the time to understand my background, my body and my goals. After some thorough testing to gain a data-backed view of my injury, he shared clear and practical tips to get me to where I want to be in my climbing. Having a follow up email clearly breaking down all the steps is appreciated too! Thank you.
After 5 years on recurring finger injuries, couple of doctors and scans I decided to try Sheffield Climbing Clinic. Initially I was very sceptical that I will solve this issue, especially because these were video calls as I do not live in the UK. But I was very wrong. James Walker in roughly 3 sessions 'put the finger' on the problem named it and came up with a solution. After just one year of very detailed discussions and hard work the recurring injuries almost disappeared. If anybody knows anything about chronic inflammations, this is a big win. Hopefully I will never have to, but if I will ever need to, 10/10 will come back to Sheffield Climbing Clinic.
Jayden is great and has helped me navigate multiple injuries. He always communicates with kindness and you really feel like you have his support throughout your rehab plan.
Been seeing Jayden for my ruptured finger pulley. Very happy with the care and treatment provided. I’m back to climbing without issues. 100% recommend them!
I hurt my ankle while on a climbing trip in Spain and Jayden at the Climbing Clinic gave great support and recommendations both remotely while I was in Spain and in person back in Sheffield. As it wasn't a common injury, Jayden helped diagnose, reaching out to ankle specialists and set up a private MRI scan. Over a year of physio later, my ankle can withstand pretty much any activity I throw at it. Recommend thoroughly
I cannot recommend Jayden enough. He helped diagnose my elbow pain along with some other niggles of mine and by sticking to his plan, I was able to see my pain start to reduce within weeks. I really was impressed at how Jayden took the time to understand my injury as a whole. With his guidance, I am now well on the way to a full recovery. I feel like with his guidance, I have not just learnt and understand how my injury works, but how to fix it and not let it happen again. Thank you Jayden!!
I had been dealing with a persistent finger issue for around five months, which was negatively impacting my climbing, causing pain and reduced range of motion. I wanted to see a physio who specialises in climbing so I could get a tailored recovery plan. Being Nottingham-based, I opted for video sessions to save on travel, and I was slightly hesitant at first as I wouldn’t be physically seen by a consultant. I’ve now had a few sessions with Jayden and he has been fantastic. The video sessions have been incredibly helpful and far exceeded my expectations. After thorough analysis, Jayden identified that I was dealing with chronic capsulitis. It was great being able to talk in specific climbing terminology and really understand not only how the injury happened, but how to prevent it from happening again. Jayden has provided me with a wealth of resources so that if this injury ever crops up again, I can manage it in the early stages. We’re now working not only on getting my finger back to where it was, but on making it stronger than before. I would highly recommend using Sheffield Climbing Clinic if you need to. Thank you Jayden !
Thank you Jayden for helping me recover from my menscuis injury. Everything was clearly explained and was tailored to my injury, helping me build confidence to get back on track with climbing. Would definitely recommend to anyone dealing with a climbing specific injury.
Had physio with these guys a few times over the years. Jayden has always been super helpful each time I've needed some injury advice. The advice is always useful and the continued communication and support outside of appointments is really appreciated.
I saw Jayden having experienced elbow pain for a whole summer. He worked out what the problem was in minutes and prescribed me exercies which worked miracles. Got me back climbing very quicly, would reccommend!
We had a great experience with Jayden Bennett at the Sheffield Climbing Clinic. He helped my teenage son recover from a finger pulley injure. Jayden is very knowledgeable and professional and at the same time friendly and relaxed. He has a great talent for explaining issues in a way everybody can understand. Jayden was able to make a proper diagnosis and then structured a clear exercise/rehab plan. He monitored my son's progress until he was pain free and back to climbing. We can't recommend Jayden enough!
I had a niggling finger pain for a while that I was able to ignore since it would come and go and didn't hold me back in climbing. But then one day that changed. I would rest until my finger felt normal, then I would get back to climbing and my finger problem would flare up again. I went to the Sheffield Climbing Clinic and saw Jayden. He quickly diagnosed the problem as tenosynovitis, measured some baseline strength levels for my individual fingers in different grips, and developed a rehab plan. I went back for two more follow-ups where we measured my finger strength against that initial baseline to track progress. The rehab plan fixed my problem and I learned a lot about finger health during the process. Jayden was really great. I definitely would recommend this place if you have a climbing injury.
I've had a great experience with Jayden who has been helping me recover from a pulley injury. The clinic has great service, replies fast to queries and offers easy access to appointments. Not being based in Sheffield, it has been very useful to be able to have virtual meetings. Jayden has been positive and used climbing specific rehab to get me back to climbing and aerial. I would thoroughly recommend the Sheffield Climbing Clinic.
Treated injury and helped get back to fitness then looked into a training plan to help with strength and future injury protection.
Jaydens assessment of my injury was very thorough. During the appointment Jayden was informative and easy to understand, which made me feel confident in the treatment plan. Very professional service.
Around a year ago I saw Jayden for a bicep injury that had been bothering me for months. He was very helpful with the physio process, seating up routines and explaining the injury and how it could have occurred, as well as giving a timeframe of how the rehabilitation would go. This issue cleared up after a few months and after 3 physio sessions. Jayden wasn’t insistent on spending more time on physio sessions than was warranted. Unfortunately I had a separate injury this year but Jayden was the first person I thought of when seeking a physio again.
Received great treatment, from Jayden Bennett, for two injuries I had. Both are healed and much stronger now, thanks to a good plan put in place for rehabbing them.
Jayden was able to identify the problem and gave me the tools to recover. I've seen a noticeable improvement in my specific aspects of my climbing. Highly recommend
Jayden has helped massively with my wrist tfcc injury and now rotator cuff. Professional but relaxed, definitely would recommend to other climbers.
When I’m injured I go to Jayden, simple as that really. He explains issues really well and gives actionable feedback that I can still realistically fit in my week. Had a complicated back injury recently that has improved hugely with Jayden’s help.
Excellent care and attention from Jayden. It was great to find a physo that understands climbing. We could talk about the injury in terms of the heel hook move that caused it and set goals related to my climbing.
Great first session with Jadyen, addressing an A2 pulley and laying out a plan for rehabbing. Looking forward to the next meeting, hopefully in slightly better nick.
Jayden Bennett has helped me with a long standing injury (many years) that no one else could help with. I have returned for further help with other injuries since. He understands climbing injuries and provides a plan to get back to full strength quickly. I can highly recommend Jayden!
Came to see Jayden with a long term recurring pulley injury thats been on and off bugging me for years. He took me right back to basics and kindly informed me i had the crimp strength wasn't aligned to the grade i have been climbing and that it was likely due to this discrepency that iwas hurting it so often. Anyway a few months of sessions and it was all fixed. 6 Months later and i'm still injurty free. Couldn't ask for more!
I’ve seen Jayden of the Sheffield climbers clinic for a couple of injuries and found their services to be extremely helpful. Jayden offers a program of recover, specifically tailored to you individual needs. It doesn’t matter if you’re a punter or a professional, Jayden is able to quickly identify a route to recovery. Every session was followed up by a plan of action via email, and Jayden was always happy to answer follow up questions, no matter how silly. I have no hesitation in recommending the Sheffield Climbers Clinic when friends complain about injuries.
I have had a few climbing related injuries and seen multiple physio therapists over the years ... The physios at Sheffield Climbing Clinic have been the best I have found in treating anything related to climbing. Each time I get amazing rehab plans and advice, both for recovery and injury prevention going forward. Their online consultations make it so easy and simple to get treatment and rehab plans, it's been a great asset for me living in a remote location. Thank you Sheffield Climbing Clinic! I am a very happy client.
First time visiting this clinic on recommendation from a friend - very happy with the experience, and will certainly return if I ever injure myself again in the future! Jayden was very thorough - I left understanding exactly what my injury was, and how it had been causing my symptoms. I also had a clear plan and time frame for rehabilitation; all of which massively helped the mental side of injury. The follow-up appointments were also very helpful to see the improvements in function, adjust my rehabilitation plan, and keep me motivated. Throughout the process I have felt very positive due to Jayden's knowledgeable and confident approach to my injury. Highly recommend, especially for climbers - expert knowledge of hands and fingers in relation to climbing.
I saw Jayden yesterday for a finger injury caused by a dog leash that wasnt resolving after 5 weeks. He did a thorough assessment and suggested it may have been a fracture missed on the initial x ray I had a month ago. He was absolutely correct and a second x ray showed it was fractured. He caught this despite it being previously missed. Very knowledgeable physiotherapist who was thorough and professional. I would highly recommend this clinic.
I contacted The Sheffield Climbing Clinic because I was having what I thought were sciatica issues down one side which were not improving after 3 months. With a month-long climbing trip on the horizon, and struggling to climb without pain, I needed to get a proper diagnosis. Jayden was amazing. He correctly diagnosed the issue in our first session (not what I thought) and gave me a bunch of easy-to-fit-in mobility exercises to ease off the nerve soreness. One week after starting this (and lessening the intensity of my climbing sessions) I’m now feeling miles better and feel confident I’ll have the problem solved (or at least know how to manage it) during my trip. Thank you Jayden! Looking forward to ramping back up to normal training now.
I needed a physio that was climbing specific and I got in touch with Jayden Bennett at the Sheffield climbing clinic. I had a telephone consultation and he was just brilliant. Really informative, helpful and have me some great rehab exercises to get on with. He checked in via an organised zoom call again a few weeks later to see how I was progressing and was again really helpful and informative. I would strongly recommend Jayden he is a really friendly, easy to talk to physio with vast knowledge and good practical rehab that really helped me with my injury. Thank you
Recently finished my treatment for an injured finger with jayden, went extremely well while following his advice and my finger is getting back up to full strength only a few months later. It was great to see the progress with the targets he set in place and I will be back should I get injured again hopefully not though. I can't recommend him enough.
have seen both James & Jayden for various climbing related injuries and the service has always been superb with the results speaking for themselves. Spot on diagnosis (always), analytical analysis of impact of injuries on performance and measurable recovery through the follow up sessions. This has to ge the go to place in Sheffield for climbing related injuries. Highly recommended.
I've been seeing Jayden for a few months now and I've only positive things to say about the experience! He was able to get to the root of my issue quickly and has provided me with stretches and strengthening exercises suitable to whatever stage of recovery I've been at. As a result I've felt better and better climbing again and less like I will hurt myself on the wall.
I live in the US and don't have access to a physio specialized in climbing in my neck of the woods. Working online with Jayden was a very effective solution! He got me back on track quickly, was super knowledgeable and a real pleasure to work with. He diagnosed my injury, gave me some rehab exercises and made modifications to my climbing so I could climb around the injury. I followed up with Jayden twice to check on the progress and adjust the rehab exercises. Highly recommended!
I have had a fantastic experience with Jayden for my finger injury, which he quickly diagnosed as a ruptured A2 pulley. Jayden advised me on a fantastic, straight forward, easy to follow rehab plan and gave me confidence that I would be able to recover back to full climbing. I suffered this injury at the end of June, but despite its seriousness I was back on the wall within 12 weeks. Now after 6 sessions together I am back to full climbing and stronger than even before the injury!
I saw Jayden about a potential growth plate injury in my middle finger, thanks to his advice i have just started climbing properly again after around 3 months. He has given good, reasonable and effective advice which has helped me maintain a healthy mindset whilst i have been off climbing. Thanks Jayden :)
The clinic has helped me with an injury which has held back my climbing for a number of years! Jayden was very professional and his knowledge had helped get my shoulder back on track 👍
I had two remote sessions with Jayden for a finger injury. He quickly diagnosed the issue, gave me clear exercises, and explained how to adjust my climbing during recovery and for how long. The advice worked really well, and he even responded to a follow-up question after the second session. Great experience, highly recommend!
I reached out to the climbing clinic following a niggling hand injury and booked a consultation with Jayden. The issue was diagnosed quickly as well as the underlying cause and Jayden was able to clearly explain the biomechanics. The exercises given quickly improved strength in my hand and wrist and should help prevent any further injuries of the same nature. Highly recommended and I;m sure I will (but hopefully not) be a return client.
I wasn't sure whether a physio was what I needed when I first booked or whether I'd just over-exerted myself as I had no moment where things had suddenly deteriorated. Jayden was super helpful when it came to working out the nature of my injury, explaining and showing me how the issue usually presents itself. I left my first appointment knowing I was in good hands. I have no doubt I'd still be experiencing pain if I'd just followed advice on the internet or I'd be much further from recovery if I'd been working with physios who don't understand the difference between a sloper and a crimp.
Not the first time I've been to Sheffield Climbing Clinic, and either hopefully will or hopefully won't be the last hahaha. Either way I could not recommend these guys enough! They have all the knowledge, expertise and more intricate knowledge specific for the climbing community too. I've been for fingers, shoulders and elbows and they have always got me back to full power. My most recent sessions were with Jayden for the first time and he was amazing! Really friendly, open and explained everything as much as needed, with all the knowledge needed to get me back to firing normally and help my future with climbing. Even asked for a check up email from myself after a month or so just for an update on if I'm still injury free! Highly recommend.
I've had a great experience with Jayden helping me recover from a knee injury. He's been incredibly thorough and it has very much felt like we're working back to full strength and being completely injury free. I couldn't recommend enough if you're aiming to get back to full sporting fitness.
Extremely happy with the treatment of my wrist injury by James. Really glad I chose to seek climbing specific treatment. A holistic service that has set me up really well for preventing relapse and how I'll think about future injuries and their rehab.
I had a few sessions with Jayden and they were really helpful. I climb competitively so it’s really important to not have any injuries and he sorted out my back pain with a few helpful exercises. They are really welcoming and friendly; it was an incredible help!
This has been my first experience using a physio and I would absolutely recommend the Sheffield Climbing Clinic to anyone with a climbing related injury. Jayden has been amazing with me. He took the time to get to know me and properly assess my injury. Upon diagnosis he developed a rehab programme for me that has being incredibly valuable in terms of reducing pain, and increasing strength and mobility. I've has three sessions in 6 weeks and have made solid progress working towards my goals. Jayden has updated my programme after each appointment introducing new exercises and encouraging me to increase the load. Jayden has been really helpful and supportive and has been on hand to answer any questions I've had in between appointments. In such a short time I'm now feeling a lot stronger.
I've seen Jayden twice to address my ruptured pulley. He is knowledgeable both in terms of injury management/rehabilitation, but also the mental challenges that arise from being injured. He offered good advice, suggested evidence-based protocols, and prepared a strength training plan to keep me fit while being off the climbing wall. I also appreciated his honest opinion on the potential benefit of having the finger imaged to ease my anxious mind (which I got done on an appointment with James - also helpful and knowledgeable). Can definitely recommend, after 15 weeks I'm almost fully back to where I was before the injury (and have some extra muscles from the added strength training ;).
I’m a 50 year old climber. I got in contact with the Sheffield Climbing clinic following shoulder and bicep tendon surgery. I have been having remote consultations with Jayden Bennet who has been amazing. His knowledge and advice has been so helpful and the recovery programmes have been precise and progressive allowing me to get back to climbing gently after 4 months. I can’t recommend him enough!
I've been seeing Jayden at SCC for help with my back pain after being hit by a car. It was quite a tough injury to work through, emotionally and physically, and Jayden has been really helpful and thorough with all elements of recovery. He was able to diagnose quickly and set good rehab exercises while modifying to suit my schedule, needs, and ability. I was climbing again much faster than expected thanks to Jayden. He is also queer friendly!! And creates a very comfortable environment. Thanks :)
Used SCC a couple of times now, Jayden is great - quickly diagnoses a problem and gives clear actionable steps of how to rehab and integrate this recovery into your climbing routine. Recommended :)
My teenage son has recently been visiting Jayden at the Sheffield Climbing Clinic re a shoulder injury. Jayden is really personable and a climber himself and he quickly diagnosed the issue and set some great rehab exercises to help. Three weeks in and the pain is gone and the climbing / strength is improving. Highly recommend for anyone with a climbing injury! Thanks 😊
I’ve seen James at the Sheffield Climbing Clinic a few times now, and each visit has been excellent. His care and methodical approach always result in what feels like a genuinely tailored plan to help my injuries recover efficiently, effectively, and with a clear focus on getting me back to climbing at my best. His in-depth knowledge and experience within the climbing community really show. I’d highly recommend James to anyone — climber or not — but if you do climb, it’s a no-brainer.
If you are a climber and have suffered an injury, then Sheffield Climbing Clinic, and especially physiotherapist James, are your best option. I thought my finger was a hopeless case, but after a few visits and regular exercises recommended by James, within 5 months I had the best climbing trip of my life. I definitely recommend them.
I've had a great experience with Jayden Bennet as my practitioner. He quickly identified what type of injury I was suffering from and clearly explained what was wrong, what had caused it and how to go about fixing it. He provided a structured approach to rehabilitation which was built on as I progressed. I've made very clear progression since starting with Jayden and my fingers are now feeling great!
Went to see Jayden regarding what I now know to be capsulitis in my finger. At first I felt a bit silly going with a “poorly finger” but after leaving the first session I was so glad I went. Jayden is hugely knowledgeable in his field and it’s clear how passionate he is about it. He clearly explained the issue and the biology behind it, and did several tests to determine the best way forward. Over the last couple of months Jayden has put together a thorough rehab plan for me which I’ve seen no end of benefit from following. I’m in the final stages of recovery now and I know without Jayden’s expertise I wouldn’t have got to this stage at the pace I have. It’s also reassuring to know thanks to him I understand my injury better, and have been armed with the tools to manage it myself going forward. Would highly recommend a visit to him with any climbing related aches and pains. Thank you Jayden!
I had a brilliant experience with Sheff Climbing Clinic. I saw Jayden about a finger injury and he was very friendly and thorough in testing and examining the finger to diagnose the issue. He clearly explained what was wrong and what could have caused the injury and then laid out a treatment plan which I found easy to follow and understand. I have now nearly finished my recovery and found it to go quicker and easier than any injury I have had previously. I am climbing stronger than ever thanks to Jayden's help! Only issue was some minor difficulty getting in touch with him however that was quickly resolved and ultimately did not have any real consequences.
Jayden has been a very informative and helpful physio, he understands climbers and gives specific advice, instead of general rehab- super nice dude, highly recommend🙏
Really good experience here with Jayden after injuring a pulley in my finger. Really thorough rehab plan, good check ups and lots of benchmarks we use to track progress. My go to place in Sheffield for any climbing injuries.
I saw Jayden and could not recommend more highly. Thorough, clear, practical and positive. Effectively balances the return to climbing with robust recovery. Super professional and gentle. Thanks!
I am glad that I have been remotely consulting with Jayden for a nagging finger tenosynovitis over the last two months. He was extremely helpful in guiding and structuring my rehab training so that I could feel ready to crimp safely in time to enjoy my sport climbing trip this summer.
I turned to Sheffield Climbing Clinic after dealing with inflamed fingers for multiple years. Thanks to James Walker and his sound advice and his understanding of the mentality of climbers I'm well on my way to get better.
Jayden has been helping me recover from a ruptured A4 Pulley sustained through climbing. He tailored a recovery and rehab plan that started immediately after the injury (I managed to get a very prompt zoom session), through to finessing the final stages 12 weeks later. I've found the zoom sessions really easy to fit into my diary, and we've still found ways to consistently measure performance and recovery, I feel having gone through this that I will not only have a lower chance of re-occurrence of the injury but also generally stronger fingers and a better appreciation for board training outside of my climbing. Having a climbing expert help with the rehab is essential, standard physiotherapy pathways don't always cater fully for the kind of expectations I have for my grip strength and finger resilience.
Saw James for a variety of climbing injuries: elbows, fingers and even hip. Seen a variety of physios over the years and he is the first one to sort out my elbow properly (albeit maintenance work needed as with all injuries) and is always great to bounce training ideas of off!
This is my second time seeing Jayden and both experiences have been very positive! On both occasions he has given accurate diagnosis's, measured force on injured fingers to track progression and suggested helpful advice which has seen me get back to climbing better than ever over the course of a couple of months. The sessions are informative and feel very relaxed and Jayden is more than happy to respond to email queries with further questions/setbacks. Personally, for any issues I have in the future I won't hesitate to keep seeking advice from the Sheffield Climbing Clinic!
Saw Jayden for a few months of rehab on a shoulder injury incurred during climbing. Now back to previous climbing fitness and with a plan to prevent recurrence. Highly recommended.
Had Physio with Jayden. This is the fourth climbing related injury I've had over the last few years (3 x finger injuries) where I've driven over from Manchester to use this clinic. The other 3 injuries I was supported back to 100% and I've no doubt this one will be the same. Worth every penny. Helpful and insightful. Makes sure I understand my injury and the rehab process. Could not recommend highly enough.
Amazing service, quick and accurate diagnosis. Would highly recommend to all climbers and non climbers
After climbing for a year I was experiencing pain during, and long after, my sessions. I’d tried the usual things to heal it but it kept flaring up, so I went along to Sheffield Climbing Clinic and saw Jayden. After a thorough assessment he walked me through the best way to minimise the pain and inflammation in the short term, and how a longer term plan (that includes better, wider shoes - no more squashed toes!) could prevent it happening again. I now have a rehab programme to build strength in my feet, ankles, and improve my balance, and it’s already making a difference. I’m feeling hopeful that I’ll be pain free really soon. Thanks Jayden and Sheffield Climbing Clinic, I can’t recommend you enough!
I injured my A2 pulley in March this year and the week after, I went straight to the clinic to get some advice on how I should approach my recovery. I'm so happy to say that thanks to Jayden and following a gradual physio programme, I'm now almost back to the level of climbing I was at before the injury. I've only had video consultations since my first face-to-face appointment with him but they been just as effective. Jayden sets me a plan after each appointment and tells me what I should test before the next session so he can monitor my progress, which has been really reassuring. Overall great experience and would recommend Jayden to anyone suffering from a climbing injury!
Over the past year I’ve been having sessions with Jayden to manage a finger injury, and his support has been brilliant . His climbing-specific knowledge and approach have made a real difference in my long term recovery. Communication has been excellent throughout—highly recommended!
Thank you Jayden! Came here with a nasty A2 injury and it has made a quick recovery within 2 and a half months thanks to the guidance and support provided by Jayden. If you're an injured climber, this is the spot to go.
After hearing a popping noise from one of my fingers I booked an appointment with Jayden at the Sheffield climbing clinic. Jayden quickly assessed and confirmed what I thought was the case and that I had caused some degree of injury to one of my pulleys. He laid out a rehab plan and gave advice for training. Following this and it causing a change in my mindset and awareness not only is my injury healing well but Iv noticed a large improvement in my climbing. I feel noticeably stronger in my injured and my non injured hand. I have noticed this transition to climbing on the wall as well.
I'm really pleased with the advice I got from Jayden after an A2 pulley injury. He managed to help me get through my rehab as fast as possible so I was able to enjoy a pain free climbing trip that I had planned. He gave me lots of sensible advice for not only the rehab but also injury prevention in the future. I'd definitely recommend the Climbing Clinic for any climbing related injuries.
Great appointment with Jayden. Quick diagnosis and then a rehab plan that was detailed and tailored to my goals and experience.
I use Sheffield Climbing Clinic whenever I injure myself. Thanks to the great help of Jayden who is a physiotherapist over there, I was able to solve a really old recurring injury that was bothering me a lot. Thank you Jayden and big thanks to the whole staff. Your website would benefit from a bit of an upgrade though. I have to call in to book an appointment because your website will not allow me to book one. That's because whenever I try to book it as guest, it recognises my phone number and tells me I should login instead. When I try to login it does not recognise my password. When I ask to change the password, it does not send me a confirmation email.
Jayden helped me recover from a torn A2 pulley over the course of ~3 months. The whole experience was really smooth and very informative!
I have been to see Jayden twice now for two separate injuries. Each time he has been very informative giving me the tools and knowledge in order to take advantage of my recovery and manage my injuries. He is always really pleasant and approachable. Hopefully I don’t get anymore injuries but if I do… I know who I will be going back to see!
Really knowledgeable and has massively helped my tricky golfers elbow. Will be my first port of call if I injure myself climbing again.
I would highly recommend the Sheffield climbing clinic to any climber suffering from injury. I've been seeing Jayden Bennett online for the last six months due to elbow tendon issues and he has been brilliant - quick and accurate diagnosis, simple yet effective rehab plan and now helping me to develop my training as the elbow has improved - five stars! 💪
I cannot recommend James and the Sheffield climbing clinic enough. They were able to diagnose and support the rehabilitation of my A2 pulley injury effectively and swiftly, and it was clear that the sports specific knowledge and understanding of injuries they have was key to this. They were professional, supportive and encouraging, and provided a structured approach that motivated me and got me back to climbing.
Prompt, personalised, responsive and effective help with managing an unusual injury. Jayden was thorough, targeted plan to personal needs, and was accessible between appointments if needed.
I've been seeing Jayden at the Sheffield Climbing Clinic for almost 4 months now, with a severe ruptured A2 pulley. I'm normally not very good at being injured, but Jayden helped me through a thorough and realistic rehab plan. He is extremely knowledgeable and familiar with the specific injury, and was also very sensitive to my emotional and mental wellbeing. It's been great to quantitively monitor my progress and it's such a relief to be back climbing again. Thanks Jayden, will be recommending the Sheffield Climbing Clinic to all my climbing pals :)
I always use Sheffields climbing clinic for helping me rehab fingerinjurys cause it always works out for the best! Jayden is really good!
