Common finger injuries in climbers

An outline of the most common finger injuries in rock climbers

Lat year I sat down with Tom Randall of Lattice Training to discuss the most common climbing related finger injures we tend to see at the clinic.

Finger injuries are by far the most common injuries we see on a day to day basis so I wanted to share these videos so they can be used as a reference point if you are wondering about the different types of finger injuries that commonly occur.

We discuss the following;

  • Pulley strains
  • Pulley ruptures
  • Joint injuries
  • Collateral ligament injuries
  • Tenosynovitis
  • Flexor tendon strains
  • Lumbrical strain

If you have a finger injury and are unsure of the diagnosis or how best to manage it then book in either a in-person or video consultation and we will be happy to help.

Cheers, James
